The 3–2 opening victory keeps KC in the upper bracket and sends C9 towards elimination matches.

Karmine Corp won the opening Worlds 2026 Play-In series against Cloud9, taking the final two games after falling behind 1–2. Strafe’s report and the post-match scorecards both record a 3–2 KC victory.

Cloud9 had won game three with a 22–5 kill score. KC answered in game four, winning 15–6 as Caliste’s Xayah finished with 11 kills, one death and three assists.

A deciding game with a different outcome

KC then closed game five with a 17–8 kill score. Yike’s Trundle recorded five kills, one death and ten assists. Those numbers describe the final scorecard; they do not by themselves explain every draft or decision that shaped the result.

Our reading: the series is worth revisiting for how sharply the outcomes changed between games. Viewers reviewing the replay can compare the teams’ compositions and objective setups in the final two games, rather than assume the earlier wins settled the matchup.

One win still leaves work to do

Riot’s format sends only one of the four Play-In teams to the Swiss Stage through a best-of-five, double-elimination competition. KC remain in the upper bracket. Cloud9 can still qualify through the lower bracket, but another series defeat will end their run.
