Kuwait gets a new Asian esports event in 2027. Which games will feature?
The host is confirmed; the competition programme is still to come.

Kuwait will host the first Asian Esports and Mind Sports Games in 2027. The Olympic Council of Asia signed the host contract during the opening of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
OCA plans for 4,000 athletes; the game programme will follow. A possible 2029 edition in the Philippines remains under discussion.
A growing place in Asian competition
Esports entered the Asian Games as a demonstration sport in 2018, then became a medal sport with seven titles at Hangzhou in 2023. OCA approved 11 medal events for Aichi-Nagoya 2026, including Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
That existing selection is useful context for fans, but it does not establish the programme for Kuwait. A familiar game appearing at one event should not be treated as automatic confirmation for the next.
What Malaysian teams need next
For teams considering a campaign, our view is that three practical questions come first: which titles are selected, who can enter and how qualification works. Those details will determine whether a team can build a concrete participation plan.
