Paper Rex draw LOUD for their Champions Shanghai playoff opener
The upper-bracket quarter-final is scheduled for 7 October at 8pm Malaysia time.
Paper Rex now know their first playoff opponent at VALORANT Champions Shanghai: LOUD. VLR’s match schedule lists the best-of-three series for Wednesday, 7 October, at 8pm Malaysia time.
PRX enter as Group C winners, while LOUD advanced in second place from Group B. The draw gives the two teams their first test in the eight-team playoff bracket.
LOUD arrive after eliminating Global Esports
LOUD secured their place with a 2-0 victory over Global Esports on 4 October. That result ended Global Esports’ campaign and completed LOUD’s route out of the group stage.
Riot’s format gives every playoff team a second chance through the lower bracket. An opening defeat therefore does not end the campaign, but it leaves the loser one further series loss from elimination.
The other opening matches
NRG face T1 on 7 October before PRX play LOUD. On 8 October, 100 Thieves meet G2 Esports and Team Vitality play Nongshim RedForce. These are scheduled fixtures; start times can change.
