HEROIC named Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer as their CS2 head coach on 1 October, replacing Joonas “doto” Forss. Snappi returns to an organisation he represented as a player between 2016 and 2020.

The change follows two trophies under doto, who moved from HEROIC’s academy to the main team during the summer. The organisation also credited him with improving its position in the race for the PGL Singapore Major.

HEROIC explain the change in direction

In its announcement, CEO Joachim Harg praised doto’s results but said the club had chosen the direction it believed best for the project’s long term.

Snappi said his decision became easier after his time at NIP ended and he saw HEROIC’s improving young roster. His stated goal is to help bring the organisation back to tier-one competition.

A coaching debut in Stockholm

HLTV reports that Snappi’s first event behind the team will be Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm, scheduled for 12–17 October. That will provide the first tournament test of this coaching change, while Major qualification remains a target rather than a secured place.
