Valve’s updated CS Major rulebook adds a three-calendar-month condition to regional eligibility. A roster cannot receive a regional assignment if it appeared on another region’s Valve Regional Standing (VRS) list during that period.

Major invitations use regional VRS lists. The global list is for seeding after teams accept their invitations.

The deadline is tied to invitations

HLTV reports that Valve confirmed the change applies to the Singapore Major. The window is measured before invitations are issued, rather than from the tournament’s opening day.

The report places the update after moves towards the Asian VRS by teams including BC.Game and Sashi. It also says the restriction concerns Major invitations; invitations to events outside the Major circuit are unaffected.

What this means for the Asian race

For fans tracking qualification, current Asian rankings now need to be read alongside each roster’s regional history.
