Vamos sweep SRG to make it five straight wins
The Season 17 finalists meet again, and this time Vamos take the series 2–0.
Team Vamos beat Selangor Red Giants 2–0 on 16 October in MPL Malaysia Season 18. The result reverses their first regular-season meeting on 5 September, when SRG won by the same score.
It also extends Vamos’ run to five consecutive series wins. The official team page records victories over RRQ, Bigetron MY, Invictus Gaming and FUTURE LEGENDS before Friday’s win, following a loss to Team Rey on 12 September.
A different result against a familiar opponent
The matchup carries history. SRG swept Vamos 4–0 in the Season 17 grand final to claim their fifth consecutive MPL MY title. Vamos had reached that final after recovering from an upper-bracket defeat and beating Bigetron MY and Invictus Gaming.
Our reading: beating that opponent gives Vamos a more convincing result to build on than the winning streak alone. The immediate question is whether they can carry this form into their remaining regular-season fixture.
AC Esports are next
Vamos face AC Esports on 18 October at 2:30pm Malaysia time, according to the official schedule. Regular-season matches are held at the Level 6 convention centre in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur.
