Riot’s 15 October announcement outlines more than 50 VCT tournaments in 2027. Its calendar includes Bangkok for Kickoff and Manila for the first Cup.

Austin will host Champions and the Game Changers Championship. The schedule gives Southeast Asian supporters nearby stops to follow before the season reaches its finale in the United States.

What an open team can earn

In its June format update, Riot set qualification payments for open teams at US$100,000 for Kickoff or a Cup, US$200,000 for Masters and US$400,000 for Champions. These are qualification payments, separate from possible prize earnings.

That update also says open and creator-led teams retain their points and progress if they keep at least three of five players. Partner status brings initial entry into Kickoff, but does not guarantee a place in every subsequent Cup.

A practical question for aspiring teams

Our reading: roster stability becomes a planning decision as well as a competitive one. A team considering changes should weigh what it gains on the server against the progress it could lose. Confirm eligibility and registration details in the relevant qualifier rules before committing money.
