Malaysia has a route into VCT 2027. Qualifiers start in November.

Riot’s new announcement places Malaysia in the Southeast Asia qualifiers, with four open-team spots at Pacific Kickoff.

A Malaysian VALORANT team could begin its VCT 2027 campaign before this year ends. Riot Games announced on 8 September that open qualifiers for the next season’s Kickoff will start in November, giving aspiring teams a concrete month to prepare for.

Pacific Kickoff will have 12 teams: eight partners and four teams coming through open qualifiers. The same split applies to Americas and EMEA. Those four Pacific places cover the wider region; they are not four slots reserved for Malaysia.

Where Malaysia fits

Riot lists Malaysia alongside the Philippines, Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia in one qualifying route. Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam have separately listed qualifiers. The September announcement leaves registration dates, detailed formats and eligibility requirements to regional updates.

There is financial support further along that route. Riot’s June format announcement lists fixed payments of $100,000 for non-partner teams qualifying for Kickoff or a Cup, $200,000 for Masters and $400,000 for Champions. These payments depend on reaching those stages; entering a qualifier alone does not earn them.

The roster matters beyond one event

Riot says open and creator-led teams must retain at least three of their five players to keep their competitive progress through the season. It also asks teams to prepare valid passports and follow regional age, ranking and residency requirements. For Malaysian players assembling a squad, the next useful update is the SEA registration notice: the November window is confirmed, while the exact entry conditions still need checking when published.
