Team Yandex beat Team Spirit 2-0 in the BLAST Slam VIII upper-bracket final on 10 October. The result secured a place in the grand final and reversed their earlier loss to the same opponent in the seeding stage.

BLAST's results show Spirit won that earlier meeting 2-1. Yandex then beat LGD Gaming and PARIVISION by the same score before sweeping Spirit, building a three-series winning run through the playoffs.

One series left for Yandex

The six-team LAN bracket uses double elimination, with the upper-bracket winner advancing directly to the title match. Yandex therefore avoid the extra elimination series required of the team coming through the lower bracket.

The final is a best-of-five, requiring three game wins to lift the trophy. Yandex won the previous edition, BLAST Slam VII, and now have the opportunity to claim another title in the series.

The scheduled start in Malaysia

BLAST lists the grand final for 15:00 CEST on 11 October, equivalent to 9:00 pm in Malaysia. The organizer's live match page carries the latest pairing and broadcast links. Check that page before watching, as the preceding series can affect the start.
